Map Pin Drop Costume

Hello there!

Recently, I've been helping a friend out at Appetit. And we did a video on costumes in conjunction of Halloween! (Of course, you can use it for any other costume parties) It ain't all those scary looking outfits, but just things you can make in the comfort of your home (plus a few stuff from general stores?)

This is one of them!
It's called the Map Pin Drop.

First of all, you'll need a cardboard, a marker, a blade/scissors and a face!

What you need :
1. Cardboard

2. Marker
3. Blade/Scissors
4. Map Print Out
5. Black Paper
6. Masking Tape
7. Basic top/dress

Draw an oval on the cardboard the size of your head. You can do so by putting the cardboard right in front of you and mark beside the ears, on the top of your head and below your chin. Connect the lines and cut it out. Trim and adjust the size more after that.

Then, draw a pindrop shape outside. It's alright if the back is messy, you can always cover it up later.

It'll look something like this.

Cut out an alphabet A (for location A, or if you want to, you can also cut out your own initials!)
and print a google map on a piece of paper.

When that is done, stick the 'A' on the top of the pindrop, and the google map on your shirt with some masking tape as the roads.
If you have a partner/friend going with you, you can make them location B!

Tadaa!!

Miscellaneous October

Another miscellaneous post on the awesome October that has passed!

I murdered a bunny! *gasp*

Kidding. A friend's Line Bunny head fell off from it's pluggy. It was a different kind of pluggy where the plastic goes into the bunny's head. It broke in half and I was using the knife (it's my craft knife.. I don't use it for food) to get it out.. Wasn't very successful with it though. I used a flat head pluggy to fix it instead.

The diamonds were originally dangling where the pearls are. They were white and had turned yellow. A customer of mine brought it to me to change them into these lovely white pearls.

I saw something similar online and thought I should try it out. I think it looks pretty nice as a simple necklace. What do you think? (I prefer the smaller one)

Something I'm up to at the moment.. can you guess what they are?

  And a little something for halloween!

Looks pretty simple doesn't it? It's actually a key pouch!
You keep your keys tied to the ribbon inside so it's all gathered at one place, and looks neater (and cuter).

Finally sewed eyes for this little whale. Poor thing.. it was sorta blind for a while.

Drew some random sketches with Loveen Tan the awesomest Love you can find on earth!

So.. yeah... it turned out alright actually.. just a little short and out of shape?
hahah! I only sew tiny stuff before, and the huge leap to making a wearable something was.. a bad decision. Oh well. Will try it again one day!

And I did needle paintings of little pandas on plain white earrings!
I think they're adorable. I like how each one is different.. (the right one is fatter than the left!)

Chunk Of Craftiness #1

BIG HEAD ROXY!

Hi everyone!
Here's a little update on what I've been doing at my class.
For those who may not know, I'm taking up a clay class where classes are flexible.
I plan to make my work there as complicated as possible... really.
My aim is to make every project I have complicated whereby the teacher has no choice but to teach me more things. HAHA! If I choose to do simple projects, I might as well not take up classes, don't you think so? So, yeah.. I'm here to learn as much as possible and make everything complicated! I already have a couple of uber awesome ideas I can't wait to try! (The teacher says I got to do the basic ones first)

My first project was a monkey clock :

I'm quite satisfy with it. Have already bought the mechanism (actually I bought a whole clock.. and can't seem to tear them apart) but still in the midst of putting it together.

My upcoming project is....
I ain't gonna tell you just yet.. but I think you'll figure it out.

These are not real stones. They are made from clay. I've been making tons and tons of them from the BoxOfHobbies factory!

They make my hands tired.

And look! Even MORE stones!
Obviously you can see that its for some kind of base. I did grass for the monkey clock, and so, making life more complicated, I requested to do a whole stone base for my 2nd project. And taadaaaaa.. I'm crying stones daily. But it's alright! It'll be worth it! Woohoo!

k.. I think I don't need much explanation.. basically just more stones if you haven't realized yet.

Cute looking humans. It's pretty interesting how the head was made.

 I made the basic structure and added their butts!

Then it was time to put on some clothing. This ain't the actual colour of his pants, it's just that he needed to be fatter and I didn't want to waste my mixed clay (skin colour) for it.

She's got to put on some really thick fabric!

And yeah, this is my 2nd project for now.
I've made some roses too, but I'll post that up the next time.

Sweet Charm Bracelets

Hi everyone.

Last month I bought quite a number of charms to experiment with, and thought of making a few charm bracelets. I added random beads I have at home. Some of the beads were from more than 3 years back! Time to find them a proper 'home' to belong to.

Well, here they are!

I think I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
