A Rapunzel Valentine

For Valentines day, one of my friend made a customized order for his girlfriend. The theme was Rapunzel - Tangled. I was really excited with this project and couldn't wait to start! I finished quite a while back, but can only blog about it now as the gift is a surprise. And tadaa! Here's the post!

A plain box

I used this paint to paint the inside base of the box. It's a special paint they use to paint porcelain, but I haven't done that in a while so I thought I'd better use it before it all dries out. It's a pretty good paint.

While waiting for the paint to dry, let's mold some clay!
Rapunzel and Flynn in the making!

Pretty much done. Flynn doesn't have a beard as the customer asked to remove it. His girlfriend doesn't like it. Off it goes into the oven! The eyes are painted on with acrylic paint.

 The final product!
Using the stone alphabets made in this tutorial ! Ain't it beautiful? I love the stony feel.

End product! Yipee! That's all! Thanks for reading! Bye!

Tutorial : Salt dough keychain

Hey people! How are you guys doing? Are you loving your life as much as I'm loving mine?
Anyways, on Valentines Day, Ling Wai and I gave out salt dough ornaments. We made a round base with the word CIMP stamped onto the front.

Want to make one too? It can be any shape/size/pattern. Here's how to do it :
Mix 1 cup flour, 1 cup water and 1/2 cup salt in a bowl. Mix till dough forms. Add more flour if it's too watery, and add more water if it's too tough.
Oh! And also prepare wires and pliers (if you have, you can go without if your wire is easy to bend by hand)

For the CIMP keychains, we used a cookie cutter to cut a nice round base. Then, we made the smaller hole with a straw.
Take out your pliers and start bending the wires into any shape or word that you want.
This is what we did for ours.

Once you got it, start stamping away! Since it's wires, it may not be flat. What we did, was we cut out a piece of unwanted cardboard or thick paper and place it on top of the 'stamp' and press it down. Make sure you don't focus only on one point, but press it all down together. Try to apply the same pressure throughout. If you don't have a thick paper or cardboard, you can use rulers too, just try not to damage the other dough ornaments around the one you're stamping on.
We stamped it, and added a line beneath by pressing the side of the cardboard just below the words.
Tadaa! Doesn't it look pretty cool? I thought so. Well, now, you can either place it in the oven, or leave it to harden by itself. I suggest you try to leave it for a few days to harden. Ling Wai and I tried to bake it but it didn't get very hard. It was baked for about 2 hours in total. We then decided to leave it out to cool. (I'm not sure if air con helps, but I suppose so as it may take up water from the dough). We baked at 120 degree Celsius for 2hrs. We tied ribbons on top and gave it out on Valentines.
Well, that is all for today's post! Thanks for dropping by!

Valentines Day 2012

Dear Valentines Day, I don't have a date! So I wore this 'forever alone' badge today!
Okay fine, I wasn't completely date-less. I had a breakfast date with Ling Wai this morning! We had Sausage McMuffin with Egg & Hash Brown with GRAPE JAM! It's my first time trying it out this way. Not bad, not bad at all! Reminds me of Ikea meatballs. Yummy!

This Valentines was really beautiful for me. No, there's isn't someone new. No, I didn't receive love letters or 'special' Valentine gifts. But, I felt really blessed that I had tons of friends to spend Valentines with me! And we had a bunch of fun! I could really see that we're all getting to know each other better and we're all closer now! I love it! It feels so great having them around.

*Picture's link are broken so I had to remove them*

And I received 2 Valentine gifts!

A chocolate heart lollipop from Min, and a Toblerone chocolate from Seung Hoon! Thank you! Min is such a sweet guy. We just recently got to know him better because of a English group work. We were chatting on Facebook about it. All of a sudden, Min asks us to be at the foyer by 10.50am the next day (today) and told us he has chocolates for us! Thanks Min!

After college, I got home, changed and went off to church for Valentines service by Pastor Wayne.
Wearing my favourite skirt!
The bunch of crazy people! Do I look good in full frame black?
Well, that is all for today's post! I know it's nothing much, but I just thought I'd be fun to share. Alright! It's bed time! Put a smile on your face and make sure it stays! Good nights world! Here's a rose to share the love!
Blessed life, no?

...It's Wong Fu Weekends!!

4th February 2012! The day where Wong Fu is finally in Malaysia!
Off to WongFuKL at Taylors Lakeside with my wet hair! Oppsies.

It was pretty early, so my friend and I walked around Taylors. Did you know that 'TAYLOR'S UNIVERSITY' is written on top of the building with the logo?
Guess who I got to meet! It's Jin from Hitz.fm ! Woots!
VIP ticket + WongFu poster with their signatures! Sadly, Ted's isn't there. I didn't get a nice picture with Philip or Wesley during the meet & greet. It was a little too rushed and my friend was before me. A little hard to take the picture that quick. Aww mann. Anyhow, someone manage to get this picture :

I don't care how my face looks! You can see Wesley in it! Be jealous, be very jealous! (Though there are still those people who got to hug them!) I was too excited to think and didn't hug them then. Oh well. They say they'll come back soon with ISA! Ahh! Can't wait!
A few friends I made at WongFuKL. <3 It was Melanie and Jamie's birthday then (Both girls in red). I'm sure WongFu made their day! That's all for now. Still waiting for more pictures and the interview by MalaysiaSaya to be posted. Stay tuned!

My 18th Birthday!

"Wo-oh! I want some more!, Wo-oh! What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? Take a bite of my heart tonight!"
The boys (Ethan, YongLoon, Jeremiah & Justin) were over at my house recording a cover (Animal - Neon Trees) on 31st Jan. Then, the clock strike 12! My family brought the cake out and started singing "Happy Birthday".

Guinea pig wasn't here yet. (For those of you who don't know, I always call Ethan guinea pig)
After a while, guinea pig finally arrived! Yong Loon and him brought a cake in. They protected the candles from the wind though it was unlit, asking me to quickly make a wish and blow the candles off. I acted along, it was fun. It made me laugh.
My imaginary-lit-up candles on the unimaginary cake!
I am really really blessed on this birthday of mine. On Wednesday itself, Yumey cooked a meal for me!
and Ee Jian treat me to a 4-Course Lunch by the culinary students!
Ling Wai accompanied me there. <3

I couldn't get all of the pictures of the food as we were slightly rushing for class towards the end.
My last class on that day ended 45mins early! I went down to the foyer to find blue helium balloons, 2 sunflowers and a box from Delicious. And of course a whole bunch of my friends ( Shaujin, Yumey, XiangTing, LingWai, JasonOng, KeanYing, PeiKai, JenSion, Elly, Moses ). Still, I did not suspect a thing. In my mind, I thought they the balloons and sunflowers belonged to the seniors. Shaujn burst right then, she said "This, this and this! All for you one lahhhh!!!!!". They then pushed me away asking me to pretend I don't know while they prepare.

EeJian and Pouya came by too! I've only met Pouya trice, but once he heard that it's my birthday, he went over to Sunway's bookstore to get a penguin plush for me! How sweet of him!
The Sunflowers! Aren't they beautiful? They're still alive in my bedroom!
Beautiful my bag with bright Sunflowers!
Another birthday cake by my beloved cell group and a few others! I'm so blessed this birthday!

Oh! And I got sabo-ed this year! Hopefully I could get hold of the pictures soon so I could show you guys. I enjoyed my birthday a lot! Thank you everyone!! For the blessings, and the wishes (some of them has the word supermom & supermama in it!).
