Sketch Book No.6

I used to draw a lot, but then stopped as time was not as friendly to me as I wished it would be. Recently, I manage to stay up late and start a drawing. I continued the next morning and did another one too. Sadly though, my patience the next morning was not the same as the previous night, so I somewhat rushed through it a little. I still like the end result though. Have a look :
A very handsome eagle. His left wing (Right in the drawing)'s a bit off though. It should be higher and more towards the back of his body.
A Dalmatian. I started out and already thought that it may not look as nice, but continued on to see the outcome. It was better than I expected, but it could be improved. These 2 drawings finished up my current sketch book pages - Sketch Book No.6. A new one shall be 'born' soon! That is all I've got to share today! Thanks for dropping by!

Masquerade Mask Tutorial

Hey people! It's a happy day today, so remember to smile! Anyways, Christmas is around the corner! That means, tons of parties are going to be held! Here's a fairly simple tutorial that might help you if you're attending any Christmas masquerade!
Draw and cut out a shape you'd like your mask to look like on a thin cardboard or manilla card. I want a simple one and used an old mask to trace round the sides. You could have a more unique shape if you'd like. For the eyes, use a pencil to roughly point out where they are and draw two identical circles to cut them out.
It'll look something like the above. As you can see, there's a flower fabric underneath. If you'd like to have a fabric covering the overall top of the mask, just glue it on with fabric glue. If you already like how the cardboard/manilla card base looks like, you could skip this step and leave it as it is.
The result would be like this.
Using fabric paint, draw the outline so the strings from the fabric doesn't fray. It also makes the mask look more finished.
I drew this 'Christmas star' on foam board with a Shapie marker and metallic silver fabric paint. It is used to decorate the mask later on. You can design your own, or get ready made decorations with flat backs.
Add on anything you like. Ribbons, feathers, stickers, etc. I used 2 small square pieces of foam board at each end, holding the fabric glue in place.

Use hot glue gun to stick all your decorations on, mine being the ribbon and the star. And you're done!
If you have any stickers, you could use them too. I used left over hand phone stickers around the right eye hole.
All you have to do now, is add a stick to hold, or punch holes and insert ribbons! And that's the end of this tutorial! Hope you loved it. Not liked it, but LOVED it! Thanks for reading! I love the world!!!!

Dream : Mission no.3

It wasn't my first time. I was there before. My first mission there was to obtain a rare jewel. A huge pink jewel. My second time, was a diamond ring. I remember the items, but I couldn't remember how the whole mission went. All I know was that the place I was at seemed fairly familiar.

To get to that place, we had to travel. My dream only started with me already in there, I have no idea how I actually got there. It was somewhere at sea. A cement block making it like an island, surrounded by sea water and that is that. Two levels and more undiscovered places (I know there are places I haven't discovered, it's not in my dream, but I know there is). Below the lowest level was covered with sea. Only a small square of cement sat at the bottom of each pillar on the four sides. This time, I was searching for an object. I can't recall what it was, perhaps another diamond? I can't remember. There were nets all around. I hopped from one to the other and found myself looking down to a rusty old brown ship. Huge as it is, it was stuck there on purpose. I didn't bother to check the ship out, there were lights inside though. I simply got up to the cement floor above where they had a shop.

The whole place was a shop, the only part that wasn't was on the left side where a staircase was built. That was where the object was kept at. It was like some bulk shop, you get cheaper when you buy those stuff in bulk. The set up seemed like a mini library, only thing was that it wasn't books. They didn't have that many items to sell though, there were many empty spaces between each object. I can't really remember what items I saw. The only two items I remember was not among the other items, but above a shelf at a counter. A huge teddy bear and a huge box of kit kat - size of 8 shoe boxes stacked together. The teddy bear was charged for RM300+ each, but if you buy 300 at once, each only cost about RM26! My dream's messing with me! Anyways, I can't remember the process of obtaining the object, but I did, with the help of my 'gang' of spies/secret agents, whatever you want to call us. I haven't mention bout them before, cause in the beginning of my dream, I only know I was there. My, myself and I. I don't know where they pop up from, but dreams are always like that aren't they? You just know you had partners though you don't see them. Oh, and also, I don't know if I'm the good guy or the bad guy in my dream. I just know what I'm suppose to do is to get that object.

As soon as I got the item, I had a nose bleed. So I stuffed tissue in my nose and waited a while. On my right were 2 guys. One a younger charming guy with brown eyes and brown wavy hair, and another an old man with stubble around his chin and grey hair. The old man was just there, I can't remember anything about him. As for the young guy, he had a sword which he wrapped to my head with some cloth. *Yes, weirdo alert. Dreams are like that, forgive them* From there, I can't remember what happened, but it was a totally different scene. The two guys were gone, and my sister was with me.

We were trying to sneak the sword from the guy out of the shop. The aim was the sword now. Then there was this weird worker whose name tag wrote "SG Guy" which means "Singapore Guy". He said he don't know his name cause he wasn't from Malaysia. O..kay. Weird. I asked him what his name was when he's in Singapore and yes, he does have a name. It starts with a D, but I can't remember what. It sounded funny. Anyways, my sister and I held some toy swords as well, all of them looked different, and somehow that SG Guy noticed that the one sword we wanted to sneak out was never in the shop before. He said he didn't see it around before. I quickly changed the topic asking my sister to go the another section. Then we placed each sword (both real and fake) into a long blue bag with white words printed on top. Same kind of bag you'd put a long tripod stand in, with the zip on one side. We brought it back to the counter and SG Guy gave us suspicious stares, he even crawled to get a closer look. As if we couldn't see him. We were planning to zip open the bags one by one at the counter showing what other stuff it contained inside and somehow sneak the one containing the real sword, maybe by counting one of the toys twice.

All of a sudden, Bryan popped into my dream. He was in my team, and he was messing around with the system at the counter. Typing in stuff to the computer there and stuff. The manager didn't notice him because he himself was arguing with a big tough muscular guy with dark skin, unshaven chin, and tattoos on his biceps. SG Guy never noticed him as well because he's got his eyes on my sister and I like we were some zoo animal. We got through to the counter and got all our swords in the end. (I don't know what Bryan messed with the computer for). We asked for our room key (apparently we had a room rented from upstairs, which I didn't know till this stage of the dream) and the chinese manager guy said our 'kids' took it. Yeap, he said kids, though I have no idea how it is possible he believed the brown haired bloke and the old guy was our KIDS. Friends maybe, but kids? Oh well. At that moment, I thought. Well, you left me no choice. We've got to get our object by hunting you down. Fair deal, you've got what we want, and we've got your somewhat special sword.

As ready as my team and I was to hunt them down, we went up a level and found the placed beautifully done up like a very grand room. A long dining table was placed on the right of the room with a bunch of our 'secret agent/spy/friend' people. I don't know what you call them, but yeah. So we put the object hunting to a stop for a while and settled down. I hopped onto a net and off again to the end of the long long long long long dining table. One of the guy in my team did the same and sat opposite me. I never seen him before in this dream of mine, but as I said, dreams are weird. I just know that I do know him and he was helping me the whole while before this. I wanted to high-5 him, but he gave me some weird sign. He had both hands showing an "L". Index finger facing upwards and thumb facing himself - representing a rocket. He made the 'rockets' flew up and cross each other, then straightened it and pointed towards me. *Sorry if you can't picture it. Blame my dream, will you?* I didn't know what to do, so I did the same back at him.

Soon, our food arrived, but not the fork and spoon. I made fun pretending we had to use our hands to eat, just to notice Joey was sitting right beside him eating with her hands while everyone else was using proper cutlery. Though still waiting for the cutlery, my mind was still thinking. "The adventure has just begun", knowing that the object for my mission is in the other guy's hands.

The end! I woke up. It was a fairly good ending though. Usually dreams leave you a whole bunch of mysteries. Since I wrote a whole bunch of stuff and I'm actually rushing off elsewhere, I didn't double check it for anything. Forgive me if I made any mistakes. Whee! Bye!

Tutorial : Snowman Cookies

Before I start talking about snowman(s), here's two pictures of my phone!
It's wearing bandages (plastic surgery) because it's sick! Physically sick.
I changed the screen protector, and the person who helped me do it didn't put it up properly. It was jutting out at the edge, which causes it to open up easily when I place it in my pocket. It looks super ugly and is a bit annoying sometimes. So I decided to tape on some adorable matching blue panda tape! Don't they look adorable? Even the panda ghost looks adorable! Moving on.

What are snowmen made of?
A little bit of unsalted butter, a little bit of sugar.. 1 cup of each to be exact.
An egg and a couple more yummy goodness :
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups flour
Mix them all together till they magically becomes dough, place them in a plastic wrap and chill in the fridge. Keep it in the fridge for about 2hours or more. I had mine in the fridge for a whole day because I wasn't free then. Just in case you'd like to know, the above is the recipe for regular sugar cookies! We'll be using this to make Snowman Cookies! While waiting for the dough, you could start on making the icing.
 All you need are :
4 tbsp meringue powder
1/2 cup water
7 cups icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp vegetable shortening

Firstly, get a huge bowl. Then, beat the meringue powder and water together in the bowl till it seems white, fluffy and bubbly. It's also suppose to form peaks when you use a spoon to dip in and raise it up. Somewhat similar to soap bubbles in a bathtub! If you have an electronic beater, you could use that too. I don't have it, so I had a little help from my maid - She's awesome. Once you're done, add the other ingredients and mix them together. They'll have a thick consistency. Lift your spoon up and the icing should fall back in slowly (up to your liking actually). If it falls in too fast then you'd like it to, add some more icing sugar. It it's too thick (falls back slowly) add some water - this is suitable for flooding. When you're done, get a couple of people with nothing to do, like them :
I got my sister and my maid to help out! We're mixing all sort of colours with the icing in separate bags.
 Pink!
 Blue!
 Halfway mixing purple.

All the bag of coloured icing. Colourful eh? We mixed "Egg Yellow" and "Blue" to form the green colour above. The fun begins after you mould and cut your dough into different shapes (Circles of 2 sizes, squares and rectangles). Let the decorating begin!

Love Is A Verb

Hey everyone! How's everyone doing? Since I've finished form5, I've had more time to spend with my primary school mates and high school mates. Some of which I haven't seen for 5 years! Anyways, on one of the outings with them, I went to pyramid and came to a booth called 'Love Is A Verb'. I also came to know about it through church, so I decided to visit it. This event is organized to fulfill the wishes of orphans, old folks and disabled people - some of which who only wants some groceries, diapers, educational toys/books, etc.
This picture was taken last year.
This picture is ALSO taken last year.
Forgot to take a few pictures of my own. Anyways, all you had to do was to browse through those wishes hung on the xmas tree with the details of the wish-er, pick one, go shopping and come back with the gift! It's that simple! As for me this time, I've picked one that says she wanted a necklace. And I thought "Hey! I could make her one!"
And I made her this, something with her name on. Remember the mini booklet keychains I made before? It's the same thing, except I place this on a necklace.

There are more pages than what you see above of course, but I didn't upload everything. I hope she likes it. I'm not sure if handmade stuff would be something she like though, so I also got her something that is not handmade by me. Packaged both necklaces together.

And that is all! Merry Christmas everyone! May you have an awesome time!

Oh! Hold up! I forgot to tell you something! There's something happening this Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Check out the Christmas Production - ChromeHeart by City Harvest Church! Trailer : http://www.chc.org.my/chromeheart/ . It's going to be an amazing production. It's our very first production in our new church building, and it is also the biggest production we've ever had! Enjoyed those previous productions we've had? This one will be BETTER. Really. It will blow your minds off! So make sure you come by early alright? I'd suggest at least an hour early as the seats are always taken up real fast! Let me know if you'd like to join me on any of the dates above. Thank you! Also, I'm helping with props!!! *smiles*

Old Photos

So my sister - Jessica Lew, has this Picassa Web thing where she uploads all her pictures for backup. And I've found tons of treasure!
Okay, not that treasure. I wish it was though. Nahh.. these are better.
Check Roxy out! My little baby, not even a year old. Now, she's already FIVE years old!
This is her a little older. Her fur looks pretty bad doesn't it? She's so much prettier now!

A couple of years back, my family and I went to Kuantan to visit my aunt. She brought me out to the market in the morning and we bought a RM1 chick. We were planning to bring home and play, then send it back to the market the next day when my family's leaving. In the end, we didn't have the time to purposely head back to the market, so I got to keep her! She was adorable. I named her Chick Chick at that time.
So adorable! I was always with her at that time and she began to think of me as her mother. When I use my fingers and tap the food at 1 area, she follows and eats there. When I tap another area with the same kind of food, she abandon the one she was eating and follows my hand. When I tap the water, she drinks water! Ain't that cute?! She grew up to be a very pretty chick - full baby yellow with brownish leopard patterned marks only found at her neck! Not a lot of them, but good enough to look like a collar.

Some old pictures of mine :
I can sail a ship!!! I really did! (Not the whole journey though)

My hamsters - Blue & Berry

Oh! And I went out yesterday with Xiang Ting and Jen Sion. Jen Sion has grown so so very tall. He must have a secret to that! As for Xiang Ting, I haven't seen her for 5 years now and she's still the same! Well, maybe she's grown a little crazier than before.
That's us last time.Anyways, we went to have lunch at "The Hungry Hog" in ss15. Both of us ordered "Three Little Pigs" which are burgers with bacon, ham and pork patty! Jen Sion ordered "Bangers and Mash" which are mash potatoes and sausages. We also ordered dessert! Check out the menu.
Bacon Ice Cream! The taste wasn't much on the bacon, but on the honey. It was actually quite okay.

Three Little Pigs
Bacon Ice Cream
That's all for this post! I can't seem to arrange the pictures properly. Wanted to put the ice cream picture below the menu picture. Oh well. Thanks for dropping by! Have a lovely day!
